God centered, prayer driven, doctrinally sound teaching in an engaging and fun atmosphere—this is Kids in the H.O.U.S.E. for preschool through elementary. It is the goal of our children’s ministry to come alongside families and assist in building the H.O.U.S.E. - Holy, Obedient, Unified, Servant, Examples! This is achieved by offering a variety of biblically based, energy chared programs geared toward your child's own developmental level.
Sunday Morning Ministry
Preschool Praise - 9:00
3 - 5 years old
Preschoolers have a lot of energy! They love to discover, encounter, engage, play and sing! Preschool praise is designed to allow your child to encounter the Bible through hands-on activities and relevant teaching. It is also designed to allow the kids to respond to God through the worship of prayer and music (which they will be singing all week long!) We hope your little one can join us this Sunday!
Children report to their individual classrooms for attendance and hands-on introductory activities at 9:00 (no earlier than 8:45 please). All of the preschool classes travel to the Activity Center around 9:30 for large group interaction including music and Bible instruction through storytelling, multi-media, puppets, and drama. Children then return to their individual classes for follow-up activities. This is where your child can be picked up if they will not be joining us for the 10:45 service.
Kids in the H.O.U.S.E. Worship - 9:00
Kindergarten - 2nd grade
Lower elementary children are unique. They are "too old" for preschool songs and lessons, but may not comprehend what an upper elementary child understands. We are delighted to have a ministry targeted at the hearts of this specific age group! We hope your lower elementary child will find a place among friends as they learn about the Bible and learn about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Children report to the Activity Center at 9:00 (no earlier than 8:45 please. Parents, please make sure you escort our child to class and get them checked in). During this time the children will have large group worship through prayer and music as well as relevant Bible teaching using multi-media and dynamic storytelling. At 9:30, each grade will head to their individual classrooms for hands-on activities designed to build relationship and further cement the truths learned. This is where your child can be picked up if they will not be joining us for the 10:45 service.
Sunday School - 10:45
3 years old - 2nd grade
More than goldfish crackers and popsicle stick crafts! (although you may encounter both along the way!)Ministry to 3 year olds - 2nd grade is different during the 10:45 service. Rather than a large group/small group training environment, the kids will stay with others their own age the entire time. The curriculum is hands-on which means the kids interact with the lesson in a variety of ways. This dynamic approach allows learners of all types to be engaged in the teaching and find relevance to them.
Children should report to their classes by 10:45*. Once they arrive, they will be checked-in, encounter hands-on activities, and engaging lessons using visuals such as puppets, large picture books, charts, etc. The teaching centers on Scripture, so we always encourage kids to bring their Bibles if they have one! Kids can be picked up in their classrooms immediately following the 10:45 service.
* There is a half hour break between services from 10:15 - 10:45. Children usually have learning center type of activity during this time in their individual classrooms.
H.O.U.S.E. Worship - 10:45
3rd - 5th grade
This ministry is energy charged and Bible driven! Upper elementary kids often have their eye on Junior High! We know they look for engaging environments and social interaction. We have our social 1/2 hour between services (10:15-10:45). Kids can catch up with friends, enjoy something to snack on, play foosball, pingpong, or one of the many other games available! The small group/large group model of training is used during the actual service time. Solid theological training is at the core and is presented through dynamic storytelling, drama, and multi-media. Our corporate worship focuses on Scripture (kids often look up and read passages) and music with a message presented through multi-media and often, a live band.
Between 10:15 - 10:45, kids should report to the Activity Center. At 10:45 they will participate in large group teaching and worship and will also break out into smaller groups (by grade) for discussion, relationship building, and further learning. The kids are usually released when the sanctuary doors are opened after service.
NOTE: You may have noticed there is no planned ministry for this group during the 9:00 service. We feel there is value when children this
age attend service with their parents and participate in church body life. We also realize this group has unique needs and respond to
God differently than adults. That is why we offer H.O.U.S.E. Worship during the 10:45 service.
BY THE WAY...the first Sunday of each month is POPCORN SUNDAY!
Kids in preschool - 2nd grade will enjoy a warm bag of popcorn during their large group instruction during the 9:00 service. Kids in 3rd - 5th grade will have popcorn duirng the 10:45 service. (As always, please alert us to any food allergies!)
