Music and Fine Arts It is our goal and desire that music be but a tool by which we come together in corporate worship to glorify our God and King. In so doing, it is a reflection of our daily walk, lifestyle, and personal worship. We do not seek a certain style or to put on a show. We do, however, strive to come together and give our very best to our Lord. He is the “audience of one.” We believe that worship is a matter of the heart and that it is not about the music.
Music & Arts Service Opportunities Church Choir Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the vocal leadership of congregational singing, and other areas of the Music & Arts Ministry, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: Anyone from grade 7 through adult with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Church Orchestra Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the accompaniment of congregational singing and other areas of the Music & Arts Ministry, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: At least 3 years of life experience, recent or not so recent, or the completion of either the String Ensembles (Levels 1-3), the Wind & Percussion Ensembles (Levels 1-3) and with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Drama Team Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the means of dramatic sketches, readings, musicals, and other areas of the Music & Arts Ministry, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: Anyone from grade 7 through adult with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Junior Choir & Drama Team Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the means of music and drama and other areas of the Music & Arts Ministry, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: Anyone from grades 1 through 7 with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Tech Support Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the Audio & Visual leadership of congregational singing and other areas requiring technical support, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: Anyone from 11th grade through adult with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Praise Team Purpose: To encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body to promote active involvement in corporate worship through the vocal and instrumental leadership of congregational singing and other areas of the Music & Arts Ministry, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisite: By invitation of the Music Director only; also being an active member of either the Choir, Orchestra, and the Youth Worship Team (if a teen), and, above all else, a humble and teachable heart.
Music & Arts Training Opportunities String Ensembles Purpose: To offer free-of-charge, group lessons and training to encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body, promoting active involvement in corporate worship by, upon completion of levels 1-3, participation in the Church Orchestra, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior. Prerequisites: Level 1 (beginners): Anyone grade 1 through adult with, above all else, a humble and teachable heart. No previous musical training required. Level 2 (intermediate): Completion of level 1. Level 3 (intermediate/advanced): Completion of level 2.
Fundamentals of Music Theory A six-part series beginning with the basics of Music Theory and progressing through advanced harmony and arranging. Purpose: To offer free-of-charge, group lessons and training to encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body, promoting active involvement in corporate worship through deeper understanding and the reading of music, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior.
Vocal Coaching A practical study in the basics of posture, breathing, support, focus, articulation, volume control, vibrato, placement, resonance, vocal colors, and register blending. Purpose: To offer free-of-charge, group vocal coaching and training to encourage the use of gifts and talents of the church body, promoting active involvement in corporate worship through deeper understanding and mastery of the human voice, to the Glory of our Lord and Savior.
